So happy you've popped in today.
Looking for a new blogger to follow? You've come to the perfect place to find just that.
Welcome to Meet the Blogger, a platform where I introduce a new blogger to you guys each week. Some you may know and be following them already but I hope to expose you to individuals you may not usually come across and hopefully, you find some inspiring, new creatives to follow.
Today we're getting to know Sarah, the ingenious blogger who created A Boho Life. She's from the UK and is a bohemian lover (I'm sure you picked that up from her blog title), a free spirit and a hippy at heart. Sarah's blog documents her love for an alternative lifestyle, wanderlust, holistic wellness and simply releases her inner hippie.
What inspires you to write/blog and where do you get your ideas from?
Since a very young age, I have always had a love for the 60s / 70s fashion, interior design, and ethos of hippies. I love to write and take photos but for a very long time (many years) I have ghostwritten many articles, books, and blog posts and decided it was time to bite the bullet and start my own blog and write about things that matter to me. My ideas are generated by my interests - I love to travel, practice yoga when I can, I am a free spirit at heart, and have a desire to live off-grid when it is the right time in my life.
Besides blogging, what else do you enjoy doing/what are your hobbies?
Besides blogging, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, traveling and discovering new places that are a bit off the beaten track, I'm a bit of a bookworm and love to curl up with a cup of tea and a good book.
What is your day job and what is your favourite thing about it?
I currently work at my local hospital in an administrative role. I really enjoy it as no day is the same, it is fast-paced but most of all I know that I am helping patients on a day to day basis.
How would you describe yourself?
Most people who know me would say that I am a really nice, down to earth person that tries to see the best in everyone.
What are your blogging goals for the year?
To continue to post creative content on a regular basis.
To grow my audience of readers.
To increase my social media presence so that people are more aware of my blog.
I have over 10 years experience of teaching English as a foreign language so I have a goal of creating some free mini-courses and guides that I can also share with my readers.
Has blogging made an impact on your life and how?
I am quite new to blogging so to date not yet really apart from being more determined than usual.
Where do you get the images you use on your blog from? Do you take them yourself?
It's a mixture really, I am a photographer so some images are my own if its an interview the person I'm interviewing provides me with some images and sometimes stock.
Which skills do you think are important for every blogger to possess?
Good content writing skills
A passion for the niche that you are writing about
Most importantly - to have belief in yourself
What your favourite or most popular post on your blog?
I think to date my favourite post would have to be about the birthplace of yoga. The post is about The Beatles trip to Rishikesh in the late 1960s to undertake a course in Transcendental Meditation and how there love for meditation and yoga spread across the Western world.
Lastly, what is the most important thing one must do before publishing a blog post?
Once you have written your post, give yourself a break and come back to it with a fresh pair of eyes and re-read it through. Then re-read it through again out loud so that you can clearly hear any grammatical errors you may not have picked up when proof-reading.
Check that all your hyperlinks are accurate, are you happy with the keywords, check the format and structure and find the right images that will make your post stand out and catch a potential readers eye.
Thanks for popping in today and thank you to Sarah for joining us and sharing a bit about herself. I personally enjoy getting to know the people behind the blogs.
