We are halfway through the year!
How are you feeling? You on track with your goals? Even if you aren't, it's alright, don't beat yourself up. It's been a rough year.
June is my birthday month. I used to dread my birthday because l felt like I was just getting older and not accomplishing much. But hey, I'm alive! That is a blessing. There are some people who never made it to this age and I'm grateful to have the to chance build a better life every day. I'm 29!
It's so easy to get caught up in feeling like you should have obtained x things by a certain age but as long as you're trying then you're doing good. That's something that I have learned. It's so easy to feel like you're not doing enough when you compare where you are in life with your peers forgetting that things will happen for us in their own time, as long as you're doing your best.
So here's what we got up to on the blog over this past month:
On Meet the blogger we met the following creative bloggers
I wrote a post about removing condoms during sex titled " Removing a Condom During Sex is Rapey AF " where I touched on my own experience with the issue as well as gave my opinion on the matter.
I put together blogging advice for the new bloggers out there that I gathered from bloggers I've interviewed on Meet the Blogger in a post called Advice for New Bloggers from Your Fellow Bloggers. You should go check it out, especially if you're new to the "blogging scene". Up your blogging game by learning from the mistakes of those who came before you.
On the 13th of June, I woke up with a rash on my face (WTF) which I had to assume was from the wine I drank the night before, which was 1 glass that I didn't even enjoy all that much. I looked sick and I am staying away from wine from now on. I'll just stick to what my body knows. My lips were rashy and swollen too by the way. I often wonder how my future husband is gonna deal with me and my strange body. Gosh, I hope I don't have kids like me...
The 23rd was my birthday. I received so much love on my birthday, it's an amazing feeling to love and be loved by those close to you. I have such an amazing group of friends and family and a sister that I love to bits. 3 of my closest friends came over with pizza and a bottle of wine. We had a nice and cozy movie night and enjoyed a glass of wine and snacks. I hadn't had a glass of wine in a long time and it tasted so good. By the way, we watched When We First Met, such a sweet and funny movie starring Adam Devine and that hot actor named Robbie Amell that my sister likes teasing by saying "look who's back for his annual screen time" lol because we hardly ever see him in movies.
And OMG I ate so much I struggled to fall asleep.
For my birthday my dad got me Becoming by Michelle Obama, a booking I've had my eye on for ages. I started reading it the day I got it before I hit the sack. My dad came over with my book and the 2 of us enjoyed Nando's for lunch. After he left I actually discovered a box filled with articles he had written when he was younger, lol I guess that's who I inherited my writing flare from. He doesn't talk much about his life before I came along and I tend to discover things randomly.
I've been quite productive on the blog though. I've scheduled so many upcoming Meet the Blogger posts, so expect to meet a bunch of incredible bloggers in the weeks to follow. You should keep popping in (or better yet subscribe) to check them out. Meet the Blogger interviews go live on Fridays.
My blog views have increased significantly since I started making use of Blog Post Vote Up. I had tried it before then I forgot about it for a while and if you are trying to reach a wider audience for your blog then you should definitely utilize that platform. If you're a new blogger, please go sign up and get great exposure right from the beginning.
I discovered that my old blog Weird20something was still live when I thought I'd taken it down and it was still getting quite a lot of views (more than this one), so I've updated and edited some of my blog posts and will re-publish them here over the next few weeks. If anyone reading this is subscribed to that blog, please subscribe here instead. I'm no longer using that platform.
